Brief DescriptionAzlocillin is an acylampicillin with a broad spectrum against bacteria.
-
DescriptionAzlocillin is an acylampicillin with a broad spectrum against bacteria.(In Vitro):Over 75% of the isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa are inhibited by Azlocillin at a concentration of 12.5 μg/mL. Azlocillin is also active against indole-negative and -positive Proteus spp., inhibiting 98% and 71%, respectively, at a concentration of 12.5 μg/mL. Gram-positive cocci except penicillin G-resistant Staphylococcus aureus are susceptible to Azlocillin.(In Vivo):Azlocillin (75 mg/kg) treatment increases the survival of neutropenic mice infected with Escherichia coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Ceforanide
Ceforanide is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with bactericidal activity. Ceforanide causes inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis by inactivating penicillin binding proteins (PBPs) thereby interfering with the final transpeptidation step required for cross-linking of peptidoglycan units which are a component of the cell wall.
-
Irloxacin
Irloxacin is a new quinolone derivative, and shows greater activity with an acid pH. Irloxacin has a good in vitro antimicrobial spectrum against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
-
Tribuloside
A new cinnamolyglycoflavonoid 3-cinnamoyltribuloside, its precursor tribuloside and two known flavonoid glycosides afzelin and astilbin were isolated from Heritiera littoralis Dryand (Sterculiaceae) ethanolic leaf extract.
